It was once known as the Pearl of the Caribbean, but Haiti now faces disease, corruption, and an extreme lack of necessities. It is hard to understand how a nation could get to this condition, but we believe that great things are in store for the future.

WHY HAITI?

The National GDP per Capita is less than $1,000 a year, and in the rural areas of Haiti, the average income is less than $100 a year. Among the children who survive past the age of 5, a small minority can afford to attend school. Most families eat one small meal a day, and will often skip days because of the shortage. Clean water and shoes are considered luxuries. The people live on the edge of death.

And yet, amidst all of this, hope can be seen in the eyes of the Haitians. Health is improving, and technology is growing. Haiti is in a critical state, but all it needs are a few sustaining projects to get it on its feet. While this seems to be in another universe, one far away from the developed world and outside of our worries, it is only a 90 minute flight from Miami, Florida.

Haiti is in our backyard waiting for a chance to make its contribution to the rest of the world. God brought save to Boukeron in 2011. This farming village, with a population of about 3,000, is divided into five communities: Waunlop, Chada, Tribus, Mwey, and Tesale.
